Porter Township Fire Department

Porter Township Fire Department is a hybrid department made up of four full-time employees and dedicated volunteer firefighters. The department was established in 1948 as an all-volunteer fire department. In June 1996, Porter Township expanded the department by hiring four full-time employees. Today, Porter Township Fire Department responds to a wide range of emergencies and provides mutual aid to surrounding townships when needed. The department averages approximately 700 runs each year. Our standard is to provide professional emergency services to Porter Township and the surrounding communities.
